HYFYWiFi Frequently Asked Questions

A red light on your HYFYWiFi device means that there is no connection to the internet. If you previously had connection to the internet, power cycle your Internet Service Provider’s modem. If you just plugged in your HYFYWiFi device, it may take up to 5 minutes to get a solid white light on your Me First device. If after 5 minutes you still have a solid red light on your HYFYWiFi device, unplug your Internet Service Provider modem and remove the battery if equipped. Wait for all of the lights to go out on the modem and then reconnect the unit to power. Wait another 5 minutes and you should get a solid white light on your HYFYWiFi device.

It may take up to 5 minutes to get a solid white light on your HYFYWiFi device. After 5 minutes, the light will turn red if it’s unable to connect to the internet.

First, verify that you are connecting to your new HYFYWiFi network name. Then verify that you have entered the password correctly. If that doesn’t work: turn off wifi on your phone or personal device, then on again. After that, reattempt to connect to your new network. If that doesn’t work, perform a forced reboot of your phone or personal device.

The extra black cable is used to link another wired networking device to your new HYFYWiFi system. If you have one wired device, only the black cable will be needed, assuming it will reach. If you have more than one wired device to connect, additional networking equipment will be required.

If you can see both your old and new network names, as long as they are different names and/or different passwords your new HYFYWiFi system will still operate properly. For best results, try turning off your ISP’s wifi antenna. If you had a separate wifi router, unplug it and remove it from the system.

Verify that you have power at that outlet. Try plugging in a working lamp or other device to that electrical outlet and turning it on. If that device turns on, unplug the power cord from the back of your HYFYWiFi device and plug it back in. If the electrical outlet doesn’t have power, try another working electrical outlet.
